Good morning folks,
You’ve probably all heard some version of the adage, “The wheels of justice turn slowly, but grind finely\ Well, we’ve seen the slowly part. To me it’s felt like staring in the mirror trying to watch my hair grow.
It’s time for the grind finely part.
I can still see the images of that day. As vivid as when I watched them live. I kept saying, soon the National Guard will flood the building from the tunnels underneath the Capitol as they encircle them outside. Putting them in a vise to crush the mob and stop the violence. It would have been a textbook military operation.
But Trump was still in charge and that never happened. Instead, he sat on his obese ass, watching TV and stuffing his fat face with cheeseburgers.
Dante should have included a tenth circle of hell.
• Circle one - limbo.
• Circle two – lust.
• Circle three - gluttony.
• Circle four - greed.
• Circle five - wrath.
• Circle six - heresy.
• Circle seven - violence.
• Circle eight - fraud.
• Circle nine - treachery.
• Circle ten – all of the above.
I have been waiting for this day, as I’m sure all of you have, for what seems like an eternity. The day has finally arrived.
Jury selection will take time, but the wheels of justice have begun to turn, things are moving, albeit slowly.
I remember the Nixon hearings, and the disappointment I felt when he was allowed to resign. Ultimately to be pardoned by Ford saying he felt it was in the “Best interests of the country”.
I disagreed with Ford then, and I haven’t changed my opinion a bit in the last 50 years. The anti-climactic nature of the day and the absence of justice (in my mind) still linger. For years I kept a cassette recording of Nixon’s resignation speech to play when I was feeling down.
I harbor no illusions that justice will be swift. Will Trump be held to account? Or will he somehow evade accountability? I can’t say.
I believe in this country. I protested the war in Viet Nam. Then I voluntarily enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1976. There is no contradiction there.
If we give up, if we cease voting, we hand our power over to those who haven’t given up. I simply can’t abide that.
Our right to vote is fundamental. As I’ve said before, my resolve has been tested but I haven’t lost it.
Encourage everyone to vote, even if you don’t agree with them.
To paraphrase, The only thing necessary for evil to prevail is for good people to do nothing
Let justice rule the day, and let the light of liberty shine upon us all.
Stay strong, stay engaged and encourage others to to the same.
End of rant.
Thanks for reading.

I appreciate your heartfelt post, Bob ♥️💕
I don't know this as a fact, but behind the scenes, I bet that Trump's lawyers are seeking pre-trial intervention. Meanwhile we need to sweep. https://www.fieldteam6.org/mission
